Whilst mankind is producing more wealth than ever, it is intolerable that poverty and hunger still persist and that more than a billion human beings are still deprived of the bare necessities in order to live in dignity.
In the North as in the South, a growing awareness is asserting itself to build a more united future.
Here and over there, hundreds of movements and associations have placed human development at the heart of their priorities.

Their observation : in order to fight misery, injustice and inequalities, it is necessary to redefine political relations and economic practices between the North and the South. For real change, it is necessary to act over there, but also here.

Well informed, aware and active public opinion can effectively influence the political and economic decision-makers in the North.

Since 1988, Agir ici has shown the efficiency of this citizen mobilisation. Today, such mobilisation should be reinforced again. It is our responsibility as citizens, which is the idea behind this Appeal.
